Cookie policy

Wamid does not track you. This page is short because there is almost nothing to declare.

What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file deposited by a website on your device to store some information between visits (preferences, login state, etc.). Other similar technologies exist (localStorage, sessionStorage, fingerprinting). We treat them all the same here.

What we use on wamid.app

Strictly necessary (no consent required)

These cookies are essential to make the site function safely. They are deposited by our hosting provider Cloudflare and cannot be disabled without breaking the site.

• __cf_bm — Cloudflare bot management. Lifespan: 30 minutes. Purpose: distinguish humans from bots, protect against scraping and abuse.
• cf_clearance — Cloudflare challenge clearance. Lifespan: up to 30 days. Purpose: avoid re-presenting the security challenge on every page.

These two cookies are governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. We do not have access to their content beyond what is necessary for security.

Measurement (no consent required either)

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, server-side audience measurement tool. It does not deposit any tracking cookie, does not use a unique identifier per visitor, and is considered privacy-first under EU ePrivacy guidance (similar to Plausible, Matomo without cookies).

Aggregated metrics collected: number of visits, country (coarse), referrer, browser family. None of this can be linked back to you individually.

What we do NOT use

• No Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or similar.
• No advertising or retargeting cookies.
• No third-party social sharing widgets that drop cookies.
• No fingerprinting libraries.
• No A/B testing tools that persist a user ID.

What about the Android app

The Wamid Android app does not use cookies (cookies are a web mechanism). It stores your notes and reminders locally on your device. See the Privacy policy for details.

How to refuse / delete cookies

You can clear and block cookies via your browser settings at any time. Quick links:

Blocking __cf_bm and cf_clearance may degrade your browsing experience (more security challenges, slower loads) but will not break the site permanently.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add an analytics tool or a marketing pixel, we will update this page first and present a proper consent banner on the next visit. Until then, no banner is needed because no cookie requires consent.
